Format

How The Round Robin Works

Two groups of four

The eight singles players are split into two groups. Each player meets the other three players in his group.

Top two advance

The two best records in each group reach the semifinals. Each group winner plays the runner-up from the other group.

Knockout finish

The semifinals and the final are single matches. The round robin ends once the last group match is played.

Level records

When players finish with the same record, head-to-head results and then the share of sets and games won separate them.

A round robin gives every qualified player at least three matches, so a single bad day does not end a tournament. That makes the group stage a different read from a knockout draw, where one loss removes a player for good.

Race To Turin

How Players Qualify

The eight singles places go to the leaders of the Race to Turin. It is the ATP's season-long points race, and it starts again each January. Points from Grand Slams, Masters 1000 events, and other tour events all count, so the standings keep moving until the last qualifying events are played.

Alternates are named in case a qualified player withdraws. The official ATP site publishes the current standings and the confirmed field.

Brackets And Fantasy

Using AceRank Around The Finals

AceRank brackets and fantasy rosters are built for knockout draws, so the round-robin stage of the ATP Finals does not fit a standard AceRank bracket. The Paris Masters, which runs from November 2 to 8, is the last Masters 1000 event of the 2026 season, and its bracket opens once the official main draw is published.

The next Grand Slam bracket arrives with the Australian Open in January 2027. Until then, the Paris Masters page and the Masters 1000 guide cover how to approach an indoor bracket.
